Sock Cocking

Sock it to MeCurrently, I am writing from Universal City, CA, where I am attending the AVN Novelty Expo, one of the premiere gatherings of sex toy manufacturers and distributors in the nation. First impressions of the trade show: If all business conferences were this fun, there would be a lot less stress and more productivity in the world! I mean, how can one be in a bad mood while walking around testing and talking about sex toys?

One of the more amusing moments for me so far was meeting the folks from Sock it to Me. Their product display was just ominous enough to pique my interest, and yet familiar enough to set the lightbulb off in my head as to what they had developed. Yes, in the midst of the land of modern sex toy inventions, this company went back to basics. They're marketing a sock for your member. And just in case you still are not sure what a sock and sexuality have in common, please refer to some of their quotes to clue you in:

"Ladies, are you tired of finding your man's socks standing on their own?"

"Is your teen making his towels terrible?"

"Guys, tired of your socks pulling double duty?"

So whether you are a fan of that oh-so-stylish look of cock socking that has been sported by the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers (pictured left), overwhelmed with the amount of tube socks you need to buy your teenage son, or simply don't know what to get that man in your life who has everything, this is certainly a unique option that you might consider for the man who has a sense of humor.

Theresa Ikard is dedicated to education, communication, and the exploration of sexuality. Her background, both academically and professionally, is as eclectic as she is. Her coursework in Women's and Gender Studies, Counseling Psychology, Experiential Education, and Human Sexuality somehow led her to explore the back woods of New England, the remote tundra of Alaska, the deserts of Utah, and the backrooms of the strip clubs of San Francisco.
